December {Focus}photographer: Vivian Maier. Maier's work was only discovered in 2007 when a storage box filled with negatives and hundreds of rolls of unprocessed film were purchased at a furniture auction in Chicago. The story of Vivian Maier and the discovery of her work is truly extraordinary. Her photographs have since wowed the world with an outstanding measure of talent and capacity for street and documentary photography. A nanny by profession, Maier's skill in photography went virtually un-noticed due to her solitaire nature. Shooting mainly with a Rolleiflex twin lens camera in the 1950's-1960's, Vivian Maier's photographs are brimming with realism, amusement and graphic tones. Incredible stuff!!
