Just before we enter the new year, here's my 2012 wrap up in iphone pictures. 2012 has been an interesting, fun, creative and cool year for me and I am so excited to leap into the New Year with such a springboard- whoot, whoot!! A quick succession of busy nothings all adding up to something personally grand and most importantly allowing me to get back to work as a photographer after an accomplished and magnificent time out with full time motherhood.

This year I got a new camera and made the momentous transition from film to digital. And whilst I have had my trusty iphone for some time now, 2012 was the year I joined Instagram and really began to approach my everyday quirk with a new visual technique. 2012 is also when I began this little blog, my visual notebook and my space to create and curate my work as I go. Creatively speaking, my plans, dreams and hopes for 2013 are jam packed and I am ready to roll. Cheers to new beginnings. Happy New Year everyone!!

Christmas Crackers

Christmas crackers this is us! Each year around this time I do a photo session with my kids to wrap up the year and see how much they've grown and then send the updates to family and friends afar. I loved the way these turned out. Looks tropical and colourful and fits where we are living at the moment. We had a fun session at "the wall" we found at the end of a small road. My boys played the part of mucking about naturally and my daughter practised her ballet in between takes. They gave me 10 minutes for photos in exchange for 3 big mugs of hot chocolate afterwards. Fair enough! I love these kids.

I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a most Happy New Year!! I will be back here on my blog the first week of January with lots of new endeavours, adventures and business ventures too. Thanks so much for joining me and I am so happy you are here! Cheers to 2013! Let's go!! xox

Peace

pacific

Peace on earth... this was always a top wish at Christmas time. It has been very quiet around here since the awful news from Connecticut arrived and stunned so sharply. A profound sadness has cast a dark shadow on our most special time. Speaking as a mum with children of my own... this is heartbreaking, difficult to shake and most difficult to explain. My little blog here is just a creative outlet and an observational journal of photographs and lovely things, I have no intention of mentioning the bad. I wanted to skip this post as it's been a heavy week but how could such a wrecking truth not be confronted. And so it is with a heavy heart as a grown up and as a parent that I try to get my head around more of our complex world. In the end Christmas love and cheer will prevail for my family and I will still wish for peace on earth and for certain I will be holding my children extra tight. School holidays have started and we kicked it off at the cinema with 'The Life Of Pi'- we so loved it! A visit with the new Giant Pandas at the Singapore zoo was heartwarming. Whilst Christmas shopping, lots of hot chocolate and getting caught in some crazy thunder and lightning storms have kept the spirit.
